SOUTH AFRICA : 2004 NATIONAL AWARDS

• All Staffordshire Bull Terrier dogs, bitches and breeders competing at Championship Breed Shows, are eligible for the awards.
• The awards are for the twelve-month period covered from 1 January to 31 December each year. That is, the calendar year.
• The dogs or breeder(s) who, in each case, have accumulated the highest number of points for the calendar year in question, will receive the awards.
• All KUSA sanctioned Championship Breed Shows, for which Staffords are eligible for entry, shall count towards the awards.

National Stafford & B.O.S. National Stafford:
• Points are awarded for each show as follows: -
Best Of Breed:- “A” – 1 = points; Reserve Best Of Breed:- “A” – 2 = points;
where “A” represents the number of Staffords present and exhibited at the show. So, at a show where 60 Staffords are exhibited, BOB gains 59 points, and, RBOB gains 58 points.

National Puppy & B.O.S. National Puppy:
• Points are awarded for each qualifying show as follows: -
Best Puppy:- “A” – 1 = points;
where “A” represents the number of Stafford puppies present and exhibited at the show in either the Minor Puppy or the Puppy classes. So, at a show where 10 Stafford puppies are exhibited, Best Puppy gains 9 points.

National Breeder:
• Points are awarded to all progeny bred by the breeder(s) as per the Points Table.
• A breeder is deemed by the KUSA-registered prefix carried on an exhibit’s name.
• Partnerships do count towards the breeder(s) points.
• Should a breeder own more than one prefix, then those prefixes shall be counted as one for the purposes of this award.
• Should a dog or bitch be registered without the use of a prefix, that dog or bitch shall not be counted towards the points accumulated by its breeder(s).

National Stud Dog:
• Points are awarded to all progeny sired by the stud dog as per the Points Table.

National Brood Bitch:
• Points are awarded to all progeny whelped by the brood bitch as per the Points Table.

Points Table:
• Applicable to the National Breeder, National Stud Dog and National Brood Bitch awards.

Points are cumulative. So, should a dog win the CC and then go on to win BOB, it shall be awarded the points for the CC as well as for the BOB.
